(How will this benefit them, what’s their part in it, etc?)

  4. Within the Speech • Be SPECIFIC • Be INCLUSIVE—Use words like WE, OUR, US • Win with words—Use words with positive and persuasive connotation • Include different persuasive/propaganda techniques and appeals

  5. Within the Speech • Use REPETITION and PARALLELISM—these build momentum and power within your speech. They lead your audience to your desired conclusion and puts emphasis on that point. • Build MOMENTUM—the speech should have a flow to it that builds to your ultimate purpose • CONNECT with your audience—include examples, stories, or points that they will relate to, connect with, and/or find convincing

  7. Within the Speech • Maintain EYE CONTACT with your audience. Make them feel like you are speaking to each one of them individually and that you are connected with them. • Don’t fidget, giggle, or do anything to distract your audience from your speech • Be LOUD and CONFIDENT

  8. Ending • Give CALL TO ACTION—What do you want your audience to do now? • The speech should have a finality to it; it should be clear that this is the end without you telling us
