  2. History • James Naismith,1891, Canada • American football, soccer, and hockey • First ball- soccer ball • Wooden peach baskets • 9 players • Men and women played

  3. Basketball • Game of 2 teams • 5 players team • Each player has 5 fouls • Score ball in team basket • Keep opposite team from scoring • 4 quarters, 8 minutes long

  4. Rules • Game must start with 5 players • No more than 5 fouls per player • Jerseys must be tucked in • Court 50’ by 84’ • Team must wear one color • Timeouts • 3-1 minute • 2- 30 seconds

  5. Scoring • Ball passes through hoop (top to bottom) • 2 point shots • 3 point shots • Foul shots Yayyy!
