Core Proposal (36 crh) • Integrated content and skills (24 crh) • Quantitative reasoning (3 crh) • Intergroup relations (3 crh) • Structured distribution requirements (6 crh)
Integrated Content and Skills • Team taught, large lecture, 3 crh content course integrating disciplines in one LAS field • Linked to multiple small skills sections that will use the content in skill development • Content courses will be designed by instructors across the field to present a unified syllabus • One skills course must be NFS
Integrated Content and Skills • FAH 101 – Integrated Introduction to Fine Arts and Humanities • SS 101 – Integrated Introduction to the Social Sciences • NS 101 – Integrated Introduction to the Natural Sciences • GC 101 – Global Citizenship: History, Ethics, Economics, Foreign Languages and Culture
Quantitative Reasoning • Math 101 – 3 crh • Focus on applied math and statistics • Students taking Math 120 or higher and Statistics 244 or higher are exempt • Non-exempt students will take a second 3 crh math course in distribution
Intergroup Relations • Requirement met through an approved list of courses
Distribution • Requirements based on student’s major to insure breadth • All students must have one laboratory science course
