Registration Procedures • New regulations came into force 1.1.2013 • A revision of the contract handling procedures hadthe aim to • Adapt the legal framework and the procedures to common employment situations in the scientific community • Streamline and facilitate the registration procedures • Increase the possible maximum contract length • Harmonize registration procedures and forms across CERN • The transition from the previous to the new procedures is successfully completed • The Users’ Office extended more than 1000 contracts at the turn over of the year and many new contracts • The Improvements of the new procedures are already apparent 99th ACCU Meeting 6. Project for an alternative Insurance for Associated Members of the Personnel Follow-up of the proposal presented at the last ACCU meeting on 7th of December 2012 by Lorenz Stämpfli This insurance project has the aim of fulfilling the needs of the Users at CERN for financial cover of • emergency health problems • health problems due to private and work accidents It should be valid in Switzerland and France This insurance is considered subsidiary to an existing base insurance Cost estimate: 1.55 Chf /day/person 99th ACCU Meeting 6. Status • The offer presented in the last ACCU meeting was clarified • An additional offer was requested: the option to subscribe for a complete insurance with the same insurances company making use of the same subscription mechanisms • Possible implementation models are under study, considering that • The offer must be cost effective • The insurer refrains from administrating the contract affiliation and fee payments and requests a single point of contact • CERN is notthe employer nor the insurer • The institutes need to participate as actors in the project 99th ACCU Meeting 6.
