  4. After seven years travelling with Pavilion, we now have a drama trip, water sports trip and two sports trips a year! Ms Craven Griffiths, Nottingham ”

What are our sports tour objectives? • Improve performance, stamina and strength • Gain confidence making and applying decisions • Develop precision, control and fluency • Extend team sporting skills • Integrate tactics, such as outwitting opponents • Expanding experience playing foreign opposition • Have fun!

  6. Football Teams will play: • 2 x fixtures against local sides • 1 x fixture against UK touring sides • 1 x 90 minute training sessions • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Receiving (chest/feet/knee) • Heading (defence and attack) • Tackling, closing-down, intercepting, marking

  7. Rugby Teams will play: • 2 x fixtures against local sides • 2 x 90 minute training sessions • Seasonal tournaments may be offered • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Ball handling and protection • Changing pace and direction • Tackling, kicking, passing and receiving

  8. Hockey Teams will play: • 2 x 90 minute training sessions • 2 x fixtures against local teams • 4 x 90 minute training sessions with apro-coach plus mini UK tournament • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Dribbling, passing and marking • Receiving – open, reverse stick, moving and stationary • Goal keeping, shot stopping and taking crosses

  9. Basketball Teams will play: • 2 x fixtures against local sides • 2 x 90 minute training sessions • Additional training sessions as required • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Dribbling, receiving and intercepting • Passing – chest, javelin, bounce, overhead • Shooting, footwork and marking

  10. Netball Teams will play: • 1 x tournament with all English teams • 4 x 90 minute training sessions • Additional training sessions as required • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Footwork: landing, pivoting, dodging • Marking, interception and blocking • Passing, receiving and shooting

Lacrosse Teams will play: • 2 x fixtures against local club sides • 2 x 90 minute training sessions • Possibility of playing school sides • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Running with the ball and passing • Saving: use of pads, sticks and hand stopping the ball • Tackling, intercepting, marking and positioning

Cricket Teams will play: • Fixtures against a local club • Games with professional umpires and coaches • Improving core skills: fielding, catching, • bowling, batting and wicket keeping • Student outcomes: • Improve range of skills and techniques: • Extend performance, stamina and strength • Gain confidence making and applying decisions • Develop precision, control and fluency • Integrate tactics such as outwitting opponents

  19. This trip has been organised by Pavilion who are specialists in performing arts, venture and sports tours Pavilion is a member of ABTA and holds an ATOL License.
