Pituitary Gland • Main gland • Controls the output of hormones by other glands • Links Nervous System with Endocrine System • Tiny in size, HUGE in importance!!!!
Thyroid Gland • Produces thyroxin • Linked to metabolism and growth • Not enough thyroxin sluggish (hypothyroidism) • Too much thyroxin hyper (hyperthyroidism)
Adrenal Gland • Deal with emotions such as anger and fear • Produces adrenaline and noradrenaline, as well as cortical steroids • Handle emergencies
Sex Glands • Testes (male)- Testosterone • Muscle and bone growth, male characteristics • Ovaries (female)- Estrogen, Progesterone • Reproductive Cycle
