  2. Cricket is a game; which origins can be traced from England. As the British Empire extended its jurisdiction over territories across the corner of the world, more cricket had started in the colonies of England too. Today, cricket has become a famous international game that is played in 16 nations across the corner of the world. Cricket is generally termed as a 'gentleman's game' though initially before cricket became popular, it was a game mostly played by women and children in the country of its origination, which is in London. Gentleman's Game? Though, today, many are feeling that the term 'gentleman's game' is only misnomering for cricket. The reason behind this is Aussie cricketer are getting racial and sludgers for non-white players and players, in general, hurling bad words at umpires. Cricket is fast falling from the specialized category of being a game reserved only for polite and civilized gentlemen. But still in these hard times, the special label of 'gentleman's game' suits cricket better than any game, just like football, which, according to many, is the world's most beloved 'ruffians' game'. Though, anytime football has never been termed as a 'gentleman's game'. Apart from these concerns, today, more and more women choosing cricket as their favorable career and it has also become a significant contributor in the tag of 'gentleman's game'.
