  5. SAMPLE #1 • Actress Suzanna Shearson announced today that she is leaving her popular television program, “One Things at a Time,” to pursue a career in Hollywood. When asked whether the program would continue without Shearson, producer Lisa LaRue said, “definitely not. Shearson is the whole show.” Shearson will finish the season.

  7. Sample #2 • If you want to adopt a kitten, go to the animal shelter. If you have room in your heart for an older cat, try the Shady Acres Nursing Home. In September, a group of residents saw a news report about older cats at the city’s animal shelter. “So m any of them were being put to sleep,” explains 92-year-old Pearl Logan. “I just couldn’t stand it.” Residents decided to rescue some of the older cats and offer them for adoption. So far, they have found homes for ten cats.
