Biomedical Laboratory R&D Supports investigator-initiated research to study basic biological or physiological principles related to disorders and diseases of importance to the health of veterans. Funded programs may use human tissues, blood or other biological specimens or animal models, but do not involve procedures performed on intact human beings.
