  5. What happened to the Israelites in Egypt? • Exodus 1:22 Pharaoh Amenhotep I 18th Dynasty Continued his father’s rule Gave the order to kill all Hebrew male babies

  6. The one that got away A man and woman from the tribe of Levi had a son. Not wanting him to be killed, the woman placed the boy in a basket and floated it down the Nile.

  7. The boy’s sister followed the basket to see what would happen…. • The floating baby was found by Pharaoh’s daughter

  8. Hatshepsut felt sorry for the baby She decided to keep him and ended up hiring the baby’s actual mother to raise him. Hatshepsut named him Moses. She later had another son named Thutmose III
