  6. 3.3 Solving Multi-Step Equations TODAY’S AGENDA: Bell Ringer Powerpoint Lesson Classroom Based Instructional Task Exit Slip (Last five minutes) TODAY’S GOAL: Complete mastery oftwo or more steps to solve a linear equation. TODAY’S KEY WORDS: Like terms, distributive property (you already know these).

  7. Inverse Operations

  8. 3.3 Solving Multi-Step Equations TWO STEP EQUATIONS: With equations that require two steps to solve, there is a CONSTANT and a COEFFICIENT on the side with the variable. 2x + 2 = 4 You first get rid of the CONSTANT by using the inverse operation on both sides of the equation. You secondly get rid of the COEFFICIENT by using the inverse operation on both sides of the equation.

  9. 3.3 Solving Multi-Step Equations -3x - 4 = 5 Solve the equation. Check your solution in the original equation

  10. 3.3 Solving Multi-Step Equations 5x + 8 = -2 Solve the equation. Check your solution in the original equation

  11. 3.3 Solving Multi-Step Equations -6x + 7 = 1 Solve the equation. Check your solution in the original equation
