  1. Warm-Up Once the bell rings you will have exactly 60 seconds on each slide (IT IS ON A TIMER). If you waste time or do not already have your notebook/paper out, do not expect to finish on time. *Do not copy the scenarios. Just copy the “Superior/Juvenile?” and “Reason:”.

  2. Warm-Up Scenario: Jeremiah, 18, and Zach, 17, are bored on a Saturday night. They decide to go to Wal-Mart and hang out for a bit. Once they attempt to exit the store, the doors lock and the store security is called to the front. Security calls police and police end up taking Jeremiah into custody because he has $198.22 worth of CDs and other merchandise stashed in his pants. Zach is able to prove that he was unaware of Jeremiah’s actions and is able to go home. Which court will Jeremiah be tried in? Superior/Juvenile?: Why?: WRITE THE QUESTION!!!

  3. Warm-Up Scenario: Ashlee, 15, was caught skipping school on two different occasions in the past month. Her father even caught her sneaking out to meet some boy at his car in front of the house last weekend. They can’t talk to her anymore without her getting angry and defensive and they often have yelling matches. Her parents are at their wits’ end and have been asking their own parents and their friends what they need to do to help Ashlee. Finally, they decide to call the police and the police take Ashlee into custody. Superior/Juvenile?: Why?: !!!

  4. Warm-Up Scenario: Dylan, 16, has become involved with a group of friends who is all about partying and doing whatever drugs they can get their hands on. Dylan’s friends tell him about some other guy who is trying to sell a large amount of various drugs (meth, weed). Dylan’s excited, but he is low on money and is afraid the deal is going to pass him. He decides that his best bet is going to be to rob the local gas station. He did not want to, but what other choice did he have (in his mind)? He charges into the local BP station with a baseball bat and threatens the cashier that if she does not open the drawer and hand over the money that he is going to bash her head in. The cashier, scared out of her mind, hands over the money, but has pushed the silent alarm button and police are on their way. Dylan is picked up about a half mile away from the store and taken into custody. Superior/Juvenile?: Why?: !!!
