  2. Toned vs. Bulking “Toned” body has a low level of body fat and small amount of muscle “Bulky” body has a large amount of body fat or a large amount of lean muscle

  3. Stretching Reduces injury Increases performance Before and after exercise Hold for 30 secs (60 second for a tight muscle) If you feel pain, you’ve gone too far Breathe Stretch both sides equally

  4. Picking weights Only pick the amount that will make you tired at the end of that set Larger muscles can handle heavier weights You’ll usually lift more weight on a machine than free weights FORM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!

  5. Reps and Sets 3 sets is average 10-12 reps is average Wait between 1-5 between sets

  6. Working Out Alternate muscles being used, i.e. upper body, lower body Abs need to be accompanied with lower back exercises

  7. Key Points Posture: engage your abs in every movement to keep your balance and protect your spine Breathe: exhale when lifting Lift/Lowering Weights: Do not use momentum to lift the weight
