  1. Audience Feedback

  2. The People we Asked

  3. The Video

  4. Video Popularity Most people we asked had a positive reaction to the video. We asked a wide range of people to take our questionnaire, which is why so many disliked the video because it wasn’t in their preferred genres.

  5. Comments on the Video • People who liked the video said: • “The song was pretty good!” • “I liked the illustration effects.” • People who didn’t like the video said: • “It needs some colour.” • “The guy keeps staring angrily at the camera and it’s disconcerting.” • “I didn’t like the still images in the video.”

  6. Video Success

  7. The Album

  8. Album Artwork While the album artwork was mainly well-received, it became clear that a non-trivial portion of our target audience didn’t understand what the character on the front was supposed to be. Most people seemed to like the art despite that.

  9. Comments on the Album • People who liked it said: • “The album art is very professional.” • “The whole thing has a very Celtic feel to it – I like that.” • People who disliked it said: • “What is the guy on the front supposed to be?” • “It’s pretty useful (it shows the song lyrics and stuff) but other than that it’s not very cool.”

  10. The Advert

  11. Advert Feedback From what we’ve seen, most people found the advert appealing enough to sell the music. Most people who didn’t like the advert disliked it because it was for music they weren’t interested in, rather than because the advert was poor.

  12. Final Thoughts

  13. Project Comments • We asked people what they would improve about the items we created, and they had the following comments: • “Make all of the pieces fit together better – they’re good individually but don’t feel the same as each other.” • “Pick a less angry singer, his eyes scare me.” • “Try using colour alongside the black and white – an area of vivid colour really stands out.”

  14. Data Trends • The song was much more popular with guys than girls, and slightly more popular with older age groups than with the younger ones • The music video was more popular than either the booklet or the advert • The advert was surprisingly popular with our younger age groups

  15. Evaluation • Audience feedback is crucial for iterating and improving upon our work. With that in mind, what would we do differently based on our feedback? • Use some colour to contrast with the desaturated images. • Make the advertising more specific to the target audience. • Have a more accessible theme for the album artwork • Maybe the album cover image was focused too much on the genre and not enough on the band itself.
