With your partners look at the half article you have been allocated and note the following:

  • Your immediate response to the article.
  • The writer’s intention.
  • The writer's attitude.
  • The subject’s attitude, especially where it agrees or differs from the writer’s attitude.
  • Key words or phrases, especially those designed to influence you or provoke a response from you.
  • The influence of any photographs on your response.
  • Does the article adhere to the 9 Principals of Journalism?

At the end of this discussion period one person should report your findings back to the class.
