DEFINITIONS OF SEASONSTART1: First occurrence after 1st October with 15mm totaled over three consecutive daysSTART2: First occurrence after 1st October with 15mm totaled over three consecutive days with no more than 10 days dry spell over a period of 21 daysEND: First occurrence after 15th December when the water balance fall below 0.5mm.NB: 9 years out of 52 had no viable planting season(more than 3o days)

  3. RAINFALL EXTREMES- 1 year in 4 had a seasonal extreme of less than 32mm. - 1 year in 50 had an extreme more than 180 mm

  4. The mean rain per rain day in the OND season ranges between 6 and 8 mm.
