DESCRIPTION

NOAA provides a seamless suite of products and forecast services to diverse customers, including the National Association of State Energy Officials and emergency managers. Utilizing an advanced IBM supercomputer at Gaithersburg, MD, NOAA delivers over 123 million global observations daily, sustaining computational speeds of 1.485 trillion calculations per second. This technology generates over 5.7 million model fields each day, supporting global and regional models in weather, ocean, and climate forecasts, as well as hazard assessments for hurricanes and severe weather.
