  3. Being aware of sections and security : • A great planning before the Great wall hiking tour that you can seek to take from trekclub.org, includes being aware of the various sections of the Wall. There are a few sections that are permitted for camping and that include Jiankou, Gubeikou, Jinshaling and Huanghuacheng. Others sections including Mutianyu, Simatai and Badaling do not allow for camping opportunities. If you are travelling for the first time and even have been here quite some times, yet it is recommended that since you shall not be completely familiar with the Wall’s conditions hence never shall you camp alone.

  4. Sleeping bag and warm clothes • If you are undertaking theGreat wall hiking tourindependently then you must never forget to carry a bag for sleeping that needs to be appropriate. It should be suitable for the season and if you are carrying a tent then a pad that is moisture proof must be carried along. If the travel has been arranged by a distinguished tour company then they shall provide you with the bags. The Wall region is very cold in the mornings and evenings hence, you shall carry warm clothes.

  5. Good sanitary condition • Camp at sites that are mature and offer great sanitary conditions. In fact across the Wall there are places that have been circled only for campers. Hygiene and sanitation go hand in hand because as it is the trek is an arduous one and you don’t want to fall sick.

  6. Bringing food an kits • You must bring sufficient amount of clean water that is bottled, and food. This is because you can get thirsty, after the hiking and for energy you need to have something to eat. The survival kits that include first aid, flashlight and survival knife must be taken along.

  7. Pitching the tent When camping, it is a given that the tent must be pitched before it gets too dark and one must be careful enough to warding off bugs as well as insects. Last but not the least, you must always behave yourself. Refrain from doing any kind of graffiti on the walls and litter around.
