Energy Mix & Options Replacement of 300.000 MW means: • 167 1.600 MW - nuclear generating units, or • 242 1.100 MW - lignite generating units, or • 333 800 MW - hard coal generating units, or • 333 800 MW - combined gas and steam power plants, or • 133.333 5 MW - wind power plant
Clean coal Technologies Implement clean coal technologies step by step: • Step 1: State of the art-technologies are replacing older units. • Step 2: Start of 700 °C-technology which is under development. Start-up of first unit expected in 2014. • Step 3:CCS-technology. Several demonstration units are in the pipeline.
