The War of 1812 was a military conflict fought between the forces of the United States of America, those of the British Empire, and parts of Ireland. • The War of 1812 was declared in June 18th, 1812. • There were 286,730 U.S troops engaged and ready to fight. • There were 2,260 American deaths and 1,600 British deaths. • America declared war against Britain while they were having a war with France.

  3. The War of 1812 was fought against Great Britain and America. • At the time, Great Britain was the strongest nation in the world. • Compared to Great Britain, America had a very small army with only a few trained officers and very little money.

  4. The War of 1812 mainly fought in Eastern and Central North America, as well as the Atlantic and Pacific ocean. It was also fought mainly near the Great Lakes.

  5. The War of 1812 lasted for about 3 years. It started in June of 1812 and ended in February of 1815. The War ended with a peace treaty between Britain and the United States. This treaty was called The Treaty of Gent. Because of the signing of the treaty, shipping goods in and out of the states dropped and taxes rose along with the national debt being higher.

  6. America wanted to fight against Great Britain because the British blockaded their trade with France. The British did this because at the time they were in a war with France and wanted to cut them off from trading with other countries.
