Adoption by Trade IN DOMESTIC SUPPLY CHAIN • Two largest US Peanut processors viewing or downloading certificate data into corporate information systems • Dairy product suppliers viewing Health Certificates • Almond processor viewing Almond VASP certificates IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE • Two major European Union (EU) ports receive Almond and Dairy certificates from eTDE. Integration of other EU ports is in progress • Meat suppliers will use eTDE to provide copies of FSIS meat export certificate of wholesomeness to ports (including Russia) in 2012 • eTDE to be integrated with the EU TRACES system to automate creation of EU common entry documents in 2012
Features and Benefits • Provides users with the ability to access commodity-related trade documents as PDFs • Electronic documents can be used to verify hard copy documents or to eliminate the use of hard-copy documents entirely • Allows authorized product owners, shippers, carriers, brokers, owners, and port agents 24 X 7 access to critical information • Securely hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA, AMS) • Secure access is validated by USDA’s eAuthentication service
eTDE Security • The eTDE online system is protected by eAuthentication Single Sign-on and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) • Certificate upload is protected by Secure File Transfer / Secure Shell (SFT/SSH) and a secure User ID and Password issued by USDA • Registration of Entities and Users in eTDE requires approval by System Administrator and Entity Administrator • eTDE system provides an Audit Trail that captures all upload and user access activities for each certificate
eTDE Certificate Work Flow 4 Authorized users access their eTDE trade documents via the internet browser and view or print certificates as PDF files 2 1 3 1 PDF certificate with data layer or image-only are generated Providers securely transmit files to the eTDE system; USDA validates source system and uploads documents into the repository 2 Trade Document Owners manage end-user access to trade documents once documents available in the eTDE 3 4

User Home Page Double-clicking document ID number opens the document on-screen A list of recently added documents that the current user may view 1 2 Users can also search for trade documents using search criteria
