1. Introduction Welcome to the age of change.  During the rise of Christianity from the time of the Romans up until the renaissance period the Catholic church was the only christian church.  They had all the power and control over the christian faith.  Many people didn't want to break away from the Catholic church for fear that they would be banned from society.  During the medieval times they even feared being tortured.  During the reformation Martin Luther who was a monk of the catholic church broke away from the church because of corruption.  Martin Luther created the lutheran religion, which is a protestant faith.  Luther's break from the church and printing the bible on the printing press inspired many new types of philosophies.  The enlightened thinkers had many ideas of about philosophy, politics, and religion.  Many of these enlightened thinkers such as John Locke inspired the American Constitution.  You could say that they were the progressive thinkers of their time.   In this WebQuest you will learn about these enlightened thinkers and become them for a day via social media. 2. Task You will each be assigned one of the historical figures of the Scientific Revolution listed and will research that person’s contributions to the time period using the resources provided. A list of questions to answer during your research will guide you through the task. Once you have completed all of your research you will take part in an in-class discussion, utilizing Twitter where you will tell us about yourself and learn about others.
