  1. Lesson from David and Goliath Story in the Bible By Kim Anderson

  2. Passion for God • You could recollect that David only had an ordinary visit to the battlefield to deliver a meal to his brothers in the army. But his passion for GOD didn’t allow him to just drop the food and go. Although his interference was initially interpreted as insubordination by his own brothers. We’ve got to let our sincere passion bring about deliverance and victory for our nation and humanity at large; without being deterred by the “sit down there” statements of people around us. 3. Use Not Untested Weapon • Prior to confronting Goliath, David was offered Saul’s battle wear which he dropped, because it was not fit for him. Most times in life, we need to infuse some confidence into the little skills, knowledge, method and weapon you possess rather than inconveniencing ourselves with other people’s weapon never tested or used by us before. • Use that your simple but strategic weapon and approaches in solving your complex. Sometimes, a complex challenge may just require a simple strategic approach, you know!

  4. Power of Reference • You’ve to form a habit of keeping beautiful memories of your past. These will instill some confidence in you to face the challenges of the present. Appreciate your past victories, magnify GOD for them and count on His faithfulness to bring you to win in the present too. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Sure!

  5. Resize Your Goliath • Most times, we use the wrong specks to enlarge challenges facing us. David consciously and confidently resized and reduced Goliath by comparing him to animals (bears and lions). Others were scared of giant, David was daring an animal in human form. Wow!!!

  6. The Unprotected Part of the Enemy • Imagine, upon how hugely protected Goliath thought he was, he still had an opening. That’s why in life we’ve to allow GOD to inspire us and breathe on the instruments we carry so they can be directed to hit the unprotected part of every scary Goliath (mountain and problem) before us.

  7. Fear Not • Fear not for I am with you. Saul, the King of Israel and his army are afraid of Goliath but David is not despite his side. Goliath was over nine feet tall and a champion who has been fighting for many years while David was just a young teenager. • David and Goliath confront each other. Goliath with his armour and javelin. David with his staff and sling. He didn’t stop David from confronting him and David conquer and become a champion. Why? because David is bigger than his fears. • If your fears are stronger than yourself belief and faith, you’ve shot yourself in the foot without knowing it. Until you conquer your fear otherwise you’ll continue to quit on yourself. So my friends conquer your fear and face your challenges and I am very sure with your strong faith you will become a champion.

  8. Believe it’s possible • King Saul and the Israelite’s didn’t believe it is possible to defeat Goliath which is why they feared him.  David pleaded with King Saul to kill Goliath because he strongly believed it is possible. • Do you believe it’s possible? • What is that challenges you’re facing now? My friends do not quit, have a strong belief you can fight it and win and become a champion.

  9. Stop Underestimating Yourself! • Underestimate yourself will do a lot of harm to your life.  When you underestimate yourself, you end up achieving less. Judging how Goliath looks and appears compared to David, the youngest son of Jesse. • Remember, it took some persuasion before King Saul finally agreed to let David fight against the giant. But no one expected David to defeat Goliath because they underestimate him but David did not underestimate himself. • He had self-confidence and lots of it. He was smart enough to know that he was more than capable of succeeding. You too can apply this to your life never underestimate yourself.

  10. Self Confidence • This is what makes David conquer Goliath. he has a lot of self-confidence. Your Self Confidence is very important and it’s the most attractive quality you can have and how can anyone see how great you are if you can’t see it yourself? • Confidence comes naturally with success but success comes only to those who are confident. To be successful, you must have self-confident. This Photo by Unknon author is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND.

  11. Size doesn’t matter • The battle between David and Goliath has taken on a more secular meaning, denoting an underdog situation, a contest where a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary. • David knew size doesn’t matter, it’s HEART, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT that matters. You can apply the same principle and same level of thinking to your life and the challenges you’re facing. • Think bigger than the challenge, be bigger than the obstacle, and act as if it’s impossible for you not to fail. Have self-confidence, conviction and believe in yourself MORE than you believe the challenge is too big to handle. • In life, you’re bound to come across big challenges, small challenges, tiny challenges and enormous challenges. But the size of the challenge, problem or obstacle is Irrelevant. Why? Because that doesn’t determine what’s possible for you. This Photo by Unknown author is licensed under CC BY-SA. 12. The only thing that determines what’s possible for you is YOU, your mindset and your beliefs. If size mattered to David (as it did with the Israelite’s) he wouldn’t have had the courage to take on Goliath. Especially with just a staff, 5 stones and a sling. • Hope you’ve learned a life-changing from David and Goliath story from the bible, if not, please read it carefully again, because there is a lot of lessons to learn from David and Goliath story.
