Program Changes Increased Complete System Replacement (furnace + central AC) rebates: • ≥ 92% AFUE furnace $300 + ≥ 14.5 SEER A/C  $400 = $700 (was $600) • ≥ 95% AFUE furnace $400 + ≥ 14.5 SEER A/C $400 = $800 (was $650) • ≥ 97% AFUE furnace $500 + ≥ 14.5 SEER A/C $400 = $900 (was $750) • ≥ 92% AFUE furnace $300 + ≥ 16 SEER A/C  $500 = $800 (was $600) • ≥ 95% AFUE furnace $400 + ≥ 16 SEER A/C $500 = $900 (was $650) • ≥ 97% AFUE furnace $500 + ≥ 16 SEER A/C $500 = $1,000 (was $750)

Program Changes • New measures: • Demand-controlled ventilation: $0.50 per square foot of controlled space, must be installed on existing HVAC system • Ozone laundry: $25 per pound of washer capacity, system must use ozone for on-site laundry, must use a natural gas boiler or water heater • Increased rebates: • 92% furnaces – from $200 to $300 • 95% furnaces – from $250 to $400 • Retired measures: • Steam boilers and pool/spa heaters

New Steam Trap Survey Program • Pays up to 50% of steam trap survey cost! • Incentive of up to $7,500, or $30 per trap surveyed • Must replace or repair at least 50% of the traps identified as failed open • Must use a qualified vendor • See program website for program details and to become a qualified vendor

Rule Changes – Business Prescriptive Industrial/Process steam traps: • Removed 7,500 operating hour requirement • Application still requests operating hours for savings calcs • Extended bonus rebate amounts through PY3 • Steam traps installed March 1, 2013, to May 31, 2014, are eligible for rebates of $400 (medium pressure) or $500 (high pressure) • Added new requirement • Orifice or venturi-type traps do not qualify for industrial/process applications

  22. Business Custom Incentive Program For gas-saving projects not addressed by the Business Energy Efficiency program. Incentive amounts are based on the amount of natural gas (in therms) saved in first year by completing the project.

Program Changes Opportunity assessment • Free assessment • Outreach and technical support for business customers to identify energy efficiency opportunities • Walking the facility to identify gas-saving opportunities • (i.e., boiler improvements, heat recovery, steam optimization, insulation) • Report of estimated energy savings, project cost and estimated incentives • Selective process: >150k therms annual consumption • Limited funding available on first come, first served basis

Program Changes Facility assessment • Walk-through survey of facility / energy use analysis for significant end-uses • Owner/operator meeting • Identify: • Low-cost/no-cost changes • Capital improvements • Recommendations of modifications to processes and equipment • Detailed energy calculations for ECM’s • Assessment is co-funded by Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program • Requires an initial investment from the customer - $10,000 • Assessment fee reimbursed after project implementation • Selective process: >250k therms annual consumption • Limited funding available on first come, first served basis

C&I Custom Program Details • Custom rebate applies to the lesser of: • $/gross therm saved • 75% of project cost cap • Buy-down to a one-year payback • 100% of incremental project costs • Project must have a payback of 1 to 7 years • Project requires pre-approval, prior to project commencement, invoice or PO
