Class Notes • The density of a population is the number of individuals per unit area • The number of wild horses per km2 in a prairie is the density of the horse population • The relationship of a lynx and a snowshoe hare is an example of predator – prey • A predator kills and eats the prey whereas a parasite does not kill the host Lesson 27
