  • Scared Europeans voted for anti-communist parties

  • Nuremburg Trials= 1st time government officials were held legally responsible for war crimes

  • MacArthur in charge of US occupation
    • Began demilitarization= disbanding of the Japanese armed forces
    • Then democratization= process of creating a government elected by the people
  • MacArthur creates a new constitution
