  2. Summary of the Book This book Forged by Fire by Sharon M. Draper is a Teen/Drama novel about a 17 or 18 year old boy named Gerald. After he moves in with his Grandmother on his birthday he receives a surprise. His Mother Monique is ready to take him back home with his Stepfather Jordan and his Stepsister Angel. He quickly learns that Jordan is sexually abusing his daughter Angel who Gerald starts to protect. After his neighbor got involved he called the cops and Jordan was arrested. After Jordan gets locked up everything negative starts turning into a positive. After Jordan gets out he is somewhat calmed down and learned his lesson. After a fire Jordan ends up saving both Gerald and Angel.

  3. A message that I got out of the book One message that I really took our from reading the book is that there is good in some people. People aren’t always bad so we shouldn’t judge beforehand. I got this message out of the book because when Jordan saves Gerald and Angel, Gerald soon after that learns that there is some good in people.

  4. Personal Response This book taught me that there is always good in a person. Don’t judge beforehand judge after you get to know the person better. The beginning and the middle of the book is a good example of pre-judging because Gerald learns that Jordan is being abusive both physically and mentally. The end of the book shows you another side of Jordan that you wouldn’t expect to see.

  5. Recommendation I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Suspense. As well as if your into fiction books. This book is definitely a great read and I didn’t want to put it down. This book shows you one side of pre-judging and then another side of Jordan that Gerald learns of soon after Jordan dies and helps Gerald and Angel to survive.
