  2. Current Procurement Types • National Crew and Engine Contracts • Local Contracts • R-6 Crew and Engine Agreements • Local EERAs for Engines All Contracts, Agreements and EERAs terminate prior to the 2005 season and are up for renewal

  3. Basic Contract Requirements Contractor Provides: • All necessary tools and equipment for the resource type, including PPE • Trained personnel to NWCG 310-1 or FSH 5109.17 standards • All Transportation (except Air) • Payroll and workers compensation and liability insurance

  4. National Crew Contracts - 05 • Currently being written for 05 by an Interregional Steering Committee. • Type 2 IA crews only • One-year contract with possible 2 one-year extensions. • Contractors bid for Designated Dispatch Points • Best Value Contract

  5. Regional Engine Contracts - 05 • Currently being written for 05 as a National template to be issued regionally • Type 3-6 (NWCG) Engines • One-year contract with possible 2 one-year extensions based on performance • Contractors bid for Designated Dispatch Points • Best Value Contract

  6. Changes for 2005 • Consumables available to the Contract Engines and Crew at no charge - AA Batteries - Plastic Sheeting - One Quart Plastic Canteens • On site laundry services are available to Contract Engines and Crews.

  7. Best Value Contract Selection Criteria • Company experience and past performance in wildland fire suppression • Qualifications and experience of key personnel (single resource and squad bosses) • Bid price

  8. Pre-Season Inspection • Through equipment inspection (GVWR, equipment list, safety check, functionality) • Review training records and certifications of key personnel • Review experience and qualifications of key personnel

  9. Incident Inspections • Mechanical safety inspection of all vehicles • Confirm all equipment requirements • Check qualifications cards of all personnel • Inspect PPE
