Hyperbole • Hyperbole is an exaggeration • He is so tall he could touch the sky. • The girl ran track so fast, she was a blur when she ran by me.

Metaphor • A direct comparison (does not use like or as) • Margaret makes straight A’s. She is a book of knowledge.
