  6. Use Design Tools Effectively • Can you: • Animate text and images? • Duplicate slides or objects? • Reorder and hide slides? • Create a custom show? • Create SmartArt Graphics? • Add recorded narration?

Add Narration To narrate a single slide using a microphone: • Display the slide • Click Insert > Sound > Record Sound • Type a name for the sound • Click the Record button • Speak with a smile in your voice • Click the Stop button • Click the Play button to hear recording • Click OK stop record play

  8. Run Your Presentation Effectively • Ask for questions • Pose some of your own • Use these techniques to control the PowerPoint: F5 Control + B Slide # + Enter Starts Show from Beginning Blacks Out Screen Displays that slide

  10. How to Use Audacity • Download Audacity • Download the lame encoder • Launch Audacity • Plug in a microphone • Click Record (a) • Click Stop (b) • Click Play (c) to hear your recording • Save the recording (File > Save) c b a

  11. How to Export Audio Files After creating and saving an audio file in Audacity: • Select File > Export as wav… or • Select File > Export as mp3… • Name the file • Click Save

Create a Podcast • Create an mp3 file (You may use Audacity). • Create an account on a web hosting site like Screencast.com • Upload the mp3 file into the folder you have created on the web hosting site • Assign rss feed properties to the folder • Now you will simply provide the url for the RSS feed to your intended audience

  18. Whatis a Prezi? • Prezi is a web-based presentation tool • Prezis can be viewed online or downloaded • Brevity is key in a prezi • It’s free • Here’s a sample!

GetStartedwithPrezi • Create an account at http://prezi.com/ • Double-click on the canvas to insert text. • Drag and zoom on the canvas to move around. • Add objects/files using the Insert menu. • Create paths to define the sequence for your presentation. • Click the Show menu to display your Prezi.
