How It Works • Derives accurate time base and transmit frequency from a combination of GPS and temperature controlled oscillator • Measures sensors on a scheduled basis • Applies slope, offset, or special calculation to raw value • Stores the data in non-volatile flash memory • Formats messages based on user-defined parameters • Schedules transmissions based on NESDIS assigned channel, timeslot, and interval • Transmits the message on a scheduled basis • Maintains status parameters of GPS lock, loaded battery voltage, number of successful transmissions, etc.
