  1. Hiring a Civil Rights Attorney

  2. IF YOU SUSPECT YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS HAVE BEEN BREACHED, THEN THE FIRST STEP IS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A CIVIL RIGHTS ATTORNEY. Remember, your civil rights are guaranteed, and unjust treatment based on your religious views, disabilities, racial background, or gender, is not allowed. Depending on the state in which you live, there could be other protections based on sexual orientation. A good legal counselor will be able to help you understand if your case is valid.

  3. Finding a lawyer with the education and expertise needed for your particular case is essential. Take the time to choose the right lawyer for your case. Look for someone with plenty of experience, especially with cases like yours. The more experience a lawyer has with cases like yours, the better off you will be. A civil rights attorney with the right experience will know right away if you have much of a case, and he will be able to recommend an appropriate course of action.

  4. If you believe you suffered religious discrimination, then don't run out and hire someone who specifically excels at cases involving sexual discrimination. When you interview potential lawyers, ask them questions about their background and education. Ask them for specific cases like yours they have worked on, and also ask whether or not they won these cases. You'll want to hire someone with a good track record. Don't forget that you are looking for someone to represent you.

  5. You need someone who you can easily communicate with. Feeling comfortable with your legal advisor is essential. Remember, you will have to be open and honest with him concerning things that you might not be comfortable discussing. Hire someone you want to work with, and your experience will be much more positive.
