  2. TEXT.. He peered over the side and saw that in another instant he and everything in the can be dumped into the big truck.

  3. Dump: (1) vt. 傾倒, 卸下; • to put something somewhere in a careless untidy way EX. Ryan dumped his suitcase down in the hall. (2) n. 垃圾場, 垃圾堆; • a place where unwanted waste is taken and left EX. Put the rest into a sack to take to the dump.

  4. TEXT.. All aroud him was garbage,smelling strong .Under him,over him,on all four sides of him-garbage.Just an enormous world of garbage and trash and smell. It was a messy spot to be in.

  5. Messy: (1) adj. 凌亂的, 骯髒的; • dirty or untidy EX. Sorry the place is so messy, I haven't had time to clear up. (2) n. messiness [uncountable]; 混亂 mess n. EX.What a mess!

  6. TEXT.. • He was anxious to work his way up to the top of the pile because he was afraid of being squashed by the next can-load of garbage.

  7. Anxious: (1) adj. 憂慮的,不安的; • worried about something EX. He was a bit anxious about the safety of the machinery. (2) adv. anxiously; 憂慮地 (3) n. anxiety憂慮

  8. TEXT.. When at last he did succeed in getting to the surface,tired and smelly,he observed that the truck was not making any more collections but was rumbling rapidly along.

  9. Collection: (1) n. 蒐集,聚集; • a set of similar things that are kept or brought together because they are attractive or interesting EX. Every Christmas we have a collection for a local charity. Collect vt.蒐集,聚集 Collector n.蒐集者
