ABOUT SCSU • Established in 1869 • Is the largest State University in Minnesota • Has over 17,000 Students and 700 Faculty • Prides itself in Teaching Excellence • Master in Engineering Management (MEM) started in 2002 and is a high demand program on campus and in the Twin Cities. • SCSU is the only University in MN with an ASEM certified Engineering Management program. What is Engineering Management? • Master of Engineering Management is a special program that helps Engineering Managers, Technologists & Scientists improve their management effectiveness. • The course content is suitable for graduates from a wide spectrum of disciplines including but not limited to: • Mechanical, Bio-Medical, Electrical, Civil, Manufacturing, Industrial, Computer and Software Engineering and Physical Sciences and Business Studies. Accreditations • Offered by SCSU Engineering Department with ABET certified undergraduate Engineering programs • All graduate Programs at SCSU are certified by North Central Association. • The only EM program in Minnesota certified by the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM) • This program is 1 of 5 nationally - out of 200 EM programs • Graduates from this MEM program are eligible for Engineering Manager Professional Certification • You can receive the Associate Engineering Manager (AEM) certification and title after graduation • Those with 3 years experience can take the exam and receive the Professional Engineering Manager (PEM) certification and title. Suitability for Working Professionals • Classes on Friday nights (6 PM to 9:20 PM) and on Saturday mornings (8.30 AM to 11:50 PM) with free and plentiful parking (1450 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul) • Classes every other week starting in January 2014 • Typically 6 meetings per course • Professionally qualified Faculty both from SCSU, Metropolitan State University and Industry. • Workplace based homework in the form of projects (e.g., Project Management, Quality Engineering, etc.) Master of Engineering Management

  9. Application Process Fill in the on-line application form and send it to the SCSUSchool of Graduate Studies and mail a check or pay the application fee using a credit card. Attach official undergraduate transcripts and statement of purpose. Three letters of recommendation (in the format provided in the form). Official scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) if available – waived for this cohort if undergraduate GPA was 3.0 or better. Seats are limited and are on a ‘first come, first serve’. Deadline is usually as soon as seats are filled up. Master of Engineering Management
