  4. GRADING Grades are determined by weighted categories based on the following percentages Tests/Projects 45 % Quizzes 20 % Assignments 25 % Participation 10%.

  5. GRADES Typical Chapter Grades • Daily Review Checks • Daily Lecture Notes • Weekly Vocabulary Assignment • Weekly Vocabulary Quiz • Weekly Guided Reading Worksheet • Participation • Project • Chapter Test

  6. Grades Make Up Work • Missed assignments must be made up outside of class time. • One day will be allowed for each consecutive day absent. • Student should refer to the assignment board and/or website for make-up work.

  7. CLASSROOM PROCEDURES • Abide by class SOCIAL CONTRACT & The BEAR STANDARDS • Be on time • Be prepared • Be respectful • Give your best effort • Hall Passes on wall • In Boxes – Out Folders • EVERYDAY—BRING TEXT & NOTEBOOK

  8. REQUIRED MATERIALS • David G. Myers. Psychology for AP* Textbook • McGraw Hill 5 Steps to a 5AP Psychology Test Prep Guide • Daily access to computer, internet and printer • Ream of paper for home printing • 1 inch, 3-ring binder w/ notebook paper

  9. NOTEBOOK • 1 inch, 3-ring binder w/ notebook paper • 14 dividers (provided) • Notebook Checks!!

  10. PRE-TEST • UNIT ONE PRE-TEST • SCANTRON/PENCIL • YOU SHOULD NOT KNOW THIS SO DO NOT STRESS!!!

  11. Activity • Brainstorm ‘Psychology’ Write the word PSYCHOLOGY in the box labeled WORD. Generate your own definition of PSYCHOLOGY and write it in the definition box. In the rest of the boxes brainstorm words that you think might have to do with this discipline. • ‘ABC’ Explore Textbook Explore the titles and sub-titles of each unit in the text. Find words that start with each letter of the alphabet and write them in the appropriate box.
