  3. What about the Women & Kids? • In Egyptian society men and women had fairly equal rights. Main job for women was to care for the children and the home. • Kids from wealthy families went to school. Other children learned their parents job. Were married in their very early teens. • Played with dolls, board games, marbles, balls, etc.

  4. Beliefs and Religion • Life After Death & Gods Egyptians believe they would have a happy afterlife – life that follows death. Sumerians thought that the afterlife was miserable. BELIEF of MANY GODS = polytheism • Making Mummies! Embalming – preserve a body after death Mummy – body that has been dried up and wrapped (very expensive!)
