Collaborative Development • White Papers Over 45 individuals participated to provide guidance on items to consider • Strategic Planning Committees Over 110 individuals formed seven committees to develop strategic plan from across the University community • Strategic Planning Community Forums Held in Spring and Fall 2010 • Implementation Community Forum

  8. Worlds Ahead Strategic Plan Similarities to Reaching for the Top (1996-2000) and Millennium Strategic Plan (2001-2010) • Builds on a vision of a Top Urban Public Research University • Continuation of Arts, Environment, Globalization, Health themes

  9. Worlds Ahead Strategic Plan Differences to Reaching for the Top (1996-2000) and Millennium Strategic Plan (2001-2010) • Book-ending the centrality of research with student success and local/global engagement • Develops specific implementation steps that are the focus of today’s town hall

Achieve enhanced student learning and academic excellence • Expand Student Access and Success     • Increase enrollment by 2,000 students • Targeted communications to 9th and 10th graders • Recruitment focus on Broward high schools and Latin America • Pilot retention and completion programs • African American Initiative • Increase numbers of faculty, GTAs and staff • 80 Faculty • 32 Graduate Teaching Assistants • 85 Staff • 18 Advisors • 8 Public Safety Officers • 24 Academic Support • 36 Non-Academic Support

Achieve enhanced student learning and academic excellence • Expand Degree Programs     • Biochemistry PhD • Doctor of Nursing Practice • Fully online or market programs in BS Criminal Justice, MA Global Governance, Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics and Management Systems • Initiate Internship Fair    • Add 620 beds on MMC (expected completion Summer 2013) • Feasibility study for BBC residence hall
