  1. CASO 7 Mujer de 47 años. Diagnósticada hace 4 años de cáncer de mama. Consulta por molestias en madíbula derecha.

  5. Disminuyen “turn over” hueso. • Indicaciones: Mtx óseas, osteoporosis, MM… • ON: casi exclusiva en mandíbula y maxilar (alberga piezas dentarias, única zona en la que tras extracción dentaria parte del esqueleto se expone directamente al medio ambiente). • Dx: clínico, ulceración mucosa y exposición del hueso. • Pcs con antecedentes de tto con bifosfonatos sin irradiación de la mandíbula, evitar biopsias potencialmente dañinas. • Aparición de 6-60 meses después del inicio del tratamiento. • Unilateral o bilateral (mandíbula,maxilar,mandíbula-maxilar)

Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) has been defined by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research as “an area of exposed bone in the maxillofacial region that has not healed within eight weeks after identification by a health care professional, in a patient who was receiving or had been exposed to a bisphosphonate and had not had radiation therapy to the craniofacial region” • Pruebas de imagen: evaluación primaria ( estadios iniciales), extensión del proceso, diagnóstico de lesiones no expuestas, diagnóstico de complicaciones. • Hallazgos: variables. • DD: • Osteoradionecrosis. • Metástasis. • Osteomielitis crónica con esclerosis.
