Why use ArcGIS for Windows Mobile? • Companies continue to release new devices with Windows Mobile OS • Rugged Devices • Positional Accuracy • Supports offline workflows • Already using ArcGIS
ArcGIS Mobile Project Deployment • Create an MXD file in ArcMap • Create a Mobile Cache of MXD file in ArcMap • Create Tile Package of BaseMap layers • Create New Mobile Project using Mobile Project Center • Add Mobile Cache and BaseMap layers to Project • Save Mobile Project • Copy the Mobile Project folder to the field device using Windows Explorer • Open the Mobile Project on the field device using ArcGIS Mobile • Complete field collection/edits using field device • Copy the Mobile Cache folder from field device to a temporary working folder on computer • Using ArcMap synchronize the Mobile Cache with the original mxd file • Verify that edits have been properly synchronized
