Release 1.8 Feature Highlights

New Regulation Support

  • Support FCC 3.65 GHz upper 25MHz (contention) band
  • Support FCC 5.4 GHz band

Enhanced Access Sector Capacity

  • PFS – Proportional Fair Rate Scheduling
    • Proportional service adjustment of CPEs with poor links
    • Flexible configuration options
    • Enables you to maximize overall sector capacity
pfs benefits
PFS Benefits

Scenario

  • Equal service levels are sold to all customers
  • Some CPEs experience lower-modulation (e.g. interference/distance)

Without PFS

  • Continue to aim for equal (as provisioned) service
  • The lower modulating CPE consumes a higher portion of the airtime to satisfyits service
  • Degraded overall level of service in the sector

With PFS

  • Service to CPEs with lower modulation is scaled down proportionally
  • Aggregate total service in the sector is higher
  • IT configures threshold modulation, slope, and VIP list (never to be scaled)
