March CMS • Classroom visits for next year scheduling requests • Begin meeting with students about scheduling • 7th grade overnight trip CHS • Handle coordination of HSPAs and then oversee administering of them • HSPA make-ups • MAP testing • Finalize junior interviews • Presentation of program of studies, test implications, and post-secondary options for Oaklyn 9th graders and Woodlynne 8th graders for the upcoming year • Initiate individual scheduling for current high school and 8th grade students • Individual scheduling of Oaklyn and Woodlynne students at their current school • Offer nighttime scheduling appointments for students and parents • Address students that have poor progress reports • Continue with scholarship application process and continue LMC help for juniors and seniors • Continue Monthly or Bi-Monthly Scholarship Bulletin • Continue Academic Awards Planning

April CMS • Visit 5th grade classes in elementary schools • Host incoming student night • Report Cards • Train Staff for NJASK • Handle coordination of NJASK 7 & 8 and then oversee administering of them CHS • Serve on the academic awards committee • Start with the senior awards process • Report cards • Continue scheduling process • Review students failures for the 3rd marking period • Send senior failure letters home to parents • Continue with scholarship application process and continue LMC help for juniors and seniors • Continue Monthly or Bi-Monthly Scholarship Bulletin • Begin building of the Master Schedule

  10. MAY CMS • NJASK (6) • 8th grade Career Day • MAP Testing • Begin Building Master Schedule • Progress Reports CHS • Administer the end of the year Biology 5/15-5/18 • Administer AP exams 5/7-5/14 • Review scholarship applications • Attend scholarship selection committee meetings for senior awards • Continue building of master schedule • Finalize students course selections • Coordinate all aspects of the Academic Awards Ceremony • Continue notifying parents of seniors not graduating • Progress Reports

June CMS • Exit interviews with individual 8th grade students • Work with failing students for summer school • Begin working on scheduling conflicts from the master schedule • Report Cards CHS • Meet with students who are failing for the year to discuss summer school • Meet with students who are at credit loss • Call parents in regards to these issues • Compose and send letters out in regards to failing students and provide them with summer school options • Continue LMC help for juniors • Begin working on scheduling conflicts from the master schedule • Register students for summer school classes • Senior Awards Assembly • Report Cards

Continuing Responsibilities CHS • Counseling for academic issues • Crisis counseling • Suicide ideation • Cutting • Bullying • Drug and Alcohol • Abuse • Family issues • Conferences with DYFS workers • Referring to appropriate agencies • Parent and teacher conferences • Meeting with Child Study Team • Conferences with administrators • Conferences with police and truant officer • Attending 504 meetings and IEP meetings • Continue to attend professional development workshops and in-service workshops. • Refer and attend I&RS meetings • Attend honor roll assemblies • Alerting students about leadership conferences and academic enrichment programs offered throughout the year • Supervise lunch duty • Conflict resolution • Update individual student’s records in Genesis information system • Review alternative education programs to help prevent high school drop outs • Maintain confidentiality and a professional and inviting office environment • Attend monthly guidance meetings to discuss and update information • Continue and actively encourage all students to participate in the most rigorous courses, become involved in community service, and extracurricular activities • Marketing student’s achievements through PAWS TV, morning announcements, webpage, and bulletin boards

  14. Summer Responsibilities • Register students for Summer School Classes and Credit Completion classes. • Resolve scheduling problems (conflicts, adjustments for failed courses, schedule adjustments according to standardized test results, Honors waivers and change requests, balancing, etc. • Update Genesis as summer school is completed • Schedule and orient new students • Attend student orientation in August
