  1. Welcome Y9 Options Information

How much choice? 32 out of 50 periods are allocated to the following statutory subjects: • English (GCSE Language & Literature) • Mathematics (some students may be given the opportunity to study a further GCSE in Statistics or Further Maths) • Science (majority will study two GCSEs, both Core and Additional Science. Some will be offered the opportunity to study Triple Science)

  3. How much choice? 32 out of 50 periods are allocated to the following statutory subjects: • ICT/Computing (BTEC qualification started in Year 9) • Core PE • PRE (Some students will be given the opportunity to gain a GCSE qualification) • PSHCE (Enrichment Days)

  4. Option choices Recommended Pathway We will allocate the pathway that we think will lead your child to the greatest success at Key Stage 4 and progression at Post 16. 9 hours per week – 3 subjects

  5. Ebacc Pathway Core + 3 option subjects (one must be a language and one must be a humanities subject, either Geography or History)

  6. Core Pathway Core + 3 option subjects (one must be either a language or Geography or History)

  7. Vocational Pathway Core + either Geography or History and a vocational college course

  8. What happens next! • Speak to teachers, subject leaders and mentors • Take time to read the options booklet • Speak to older students • Individual appointments available with Ms Caswell • Deadline for options forms to be returned Friday 14th February • Lillian Bergman, our careers advisor is here tonight
