Mark 7:31-37 v. 31 “And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. v. 32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. v. 33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

Mark 7:31-37 v. 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. v. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. v. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

  6. Mark 7:31-37 V. 37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.”

  14. Isa. 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 . Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. 7. The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

  17. Lessons Learned Spiritual Deafness Deafness endangers physically Spiritual deafness endangers our soul refuse to hear word of God can lead to eternal death “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Lk.8:8 Ephphatha - Be opened

  18. No person is so deaf as the man who will not hear God’s word.

  19. Lessons Learned Mute Inability to speak Some of sin’s effects Difficulty speaking of spiritual matters “He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” John 8:47

  20. Lessons Learned Friends brought him Compassion Brought Him to Christ Compassion and Sacrifice Bring others to the truth Gospel is power to save Salt of the earth - Mt. 5:13 Light of World - Mt. 5:14-16 Work as leaven - Mt. 13:33

  21. Lessons Learned Power in the Word Opened ears - Loosed tongue Word Saves us: Jas. 1:21 “able to save your souls” Rom.1:16 “power of God to salvation” Jn. 8:32 “the truth shall make you free”
