  6. Q1 Important Dates • August 24 Newcomers orientation (parents and students new to the community) 1300 • Monday, August 28 First Day Of School • Monday, August 28 Open House 1500-1630 • Monday, September 3 Labor Day (Federal Holiday)

  7. Language Arts: Pencil, pen, and….. • Language Arts Binder: This is where you will keep the entry tasks, Cornell Notes, Handouts, etc. • Writer’s Notebook: 1”– 2” Three Ring Binder. All that goes in here is notebook paper. We’ll use this for Writer’s Notebook work. You’ll turn this in to me 10 – 12 times this year for a grade. • Text Book: We’ll start out with 9 Good Habits and then move on to the text.

  8. Mr. Sevigny’s Rules • No talking while Mr. Sevigny is talking. • No wasting time. If you are not seated when the bell STARTS TO RING, you are tardy. • Don’t be a victim. • Mr. Sevigny does not negotiate with terrorists.

  9. SMS Rules • Students will be on time to class and will follow directions. • Students will bring all necessary materials. • Students will stay in their seats and talk only with permission. • Students will be courteous and respectful to others, keeping their hands, feet, and other objects to themselves. • Students will move quietly in the halls, restrooms, and cafeteria.

  10. Consequences • 1st infraction Warning • 2nd infraction Student will send e-mail notification to parent with a cc to teacher • 3rd infraction Parent contact by teacher • 4th infraction Student/Teacher conference • 5th infraction Parent/Student/Teacher conference • Severe infraction Immediate referral to the assistant principal
