  1. Warm-Up: Shakespeare • Take out your rough draft and outline with rubric from yesterday. • Remember: • No “I, me, we, you.” • Answer “Why?” • WCP and underline titles. • Homework: Final Draft due tomorrow.

  2. MLA In-text Citation Example • Matt Sundeennotes that drivers with cell phones place an estimated 98,000 emergency calls each day and that the phones "often reduce emergency response times and actually save lives" (1). Lack of research, however, makes it difficult to determine whether or not cell phones actually do increase accidents. While most states do not keep adequate records on the number of times cell phones are a factor in accidents, as of December 2000, only ten states were trying to keep such records (Sundeen 2).

  3. Rough Draft due tomorrow Prompt: Write a compare and contrast essay analyzing Zeffirelli’s and Luhrmann’s adaptations of Romeo and Juliet. • Things to Note: • Effectiveness of the dialogue and storyline • Background and set pieces • Performance of individual actors • Editing • Director’s Style (music, dialogue, etc.) • Goals: • Use specific evidence to support a claim. (5 paragraph min.) • Use blended transitions between paragraphs. • Stay on track and don’t digress in essay. Clear and coherent. • No grammatical errors or texting language.
