  2. The secret of happiness 1. The people of Costa Rica are the most satisfied with their life. 2. Having an active life is the most important for a happy and rewarding life. 3. The happy-go-lucky mood can keep us happier.

  3. Going where the work is 1. Qatar has the largest number of immigrants as its national population. 2. Global migration is a world trend. 3. Economic migrants are called “a brain drain”. 4. People with skills are not needed by their home countries, might be in demand in other richer countries.

  4. 70 years of learning 1. “The” is the most commonly used English word. 2. The BBC’s English-teaching department first started transmitting radio programs in 1943. 3. Learning English is a practical need for many learners that bringing an economic benefit to them.

  5. Homesickness 1. 70% of all students feel homesick when they begin university. 2. Some tips to combat homesickness: (1) Using Skype or FaceTime to staying in touch with families. (2) Meeting up with expat communities. (3) Mixing with locals. (4) Talking to a doctor or a professional person to get some advice.

  6. When is it time to stop working? The official age of retirement in Japan is 60 years old. 2. Retiring is usually a financial decision. 3. “Hunky-dory” or “touch wood” means having good health. 4. Being a king or a queen is hereditary which can’t be given up easily.

  7. Online shopping 1. The most popular item that’s bought online is books. 2. Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving Day, many commodities have discounts, many people go out spending money at that day. 3. Mega Monday or Cyber Monday – the biggest day of the year for online shopping.

  9. Give thanks (November) 1. There is a lot to celebrate in November. 2. Britain celebrates Guy Fawkes Day on Nov. 5. 3. Nov. 11 is celebrated as Veterans Day or Remembrance Day. 4. Nov. 12 is our National Father Dr. Sun Yat-San’s birthday. 5. Nov. 17 is Electronic Greeting Card Day. 6. World Hello Day is on Nov. 21. 7. The most important celebration of Americans is on the fourth Thursday of November – Thanksgiving Day.
