Monday 12/2/13 Activities Objective Students will… Read and analyze the play Analyze elements of drama Analyze groups of words to determine similarities and differences Analyze and describe characters based on their arguments Antigone: Prologue & Parodos • Words to Own (packet page 13) • For the group of words, cross out the word(s) whose meaning is different from the meaning of the boldface word. Write an original sentence using the word correctly. • Graphic Organizer (packet page 15) • List three reasons why Antigone believes she must bury Polyneices then list three reasons why Ismene uses against the idea. • Based on their arguments, describe each character.

Wednesday 12/4/13 Meet in the Library Tuesday 12/3/13 Activities Objective Students will… Read and analyze the play Analyze elements of drama Analyze and describe characters based on their arguments Determine the conflict between Antigone and other characters • Antigone: Prologue & Parodos • Making Meanings (textbook page 699) • Make a conflict web to show the problems in this play. Use Antigone as the center of the Web, and attach the names of other characters you’ve learned about so far. Describe briefly what each character wants that puts them in conflict with Antigone. • Answer Q 1-9
