  3. RESOURCES • OVER 23,000 BOOKS • FICTION & NON-FICTION BOOKS • REFERENCE BOOKS • BIOGRAPHIES • STORY COLLECTIONS

  4. Magazines Magazines are located behind the checkout desk. We don’t check them out to students, but they can be looked at anytime while you are in the library. Magazines cover a wide variety of topics.

  5. NEWSPAPERS • SENTINEL ECHO • CORBIN TIMES • SEVERAL ON LINE PAPERS AVAILABLE.

  6. Internet • Must have library card showing internet permission to use computers or the Internet • Only go to acceptable sites • Never give your name/address to anyone on the Internet • Abuse results in loss of privilege

  7. FINDING WHAT YOU NEED • USE LIBRARY SEARCH- AUTOMATED CARD CATALOG • SEARCH FOR TITLE, AUTHOR, SUBJECT, OR KEYWORD • ASK FOR HELP

  8. COMPUTER LAB/CLASSROOM RESOURCES • 40 STUDENT COMPUTERS • Automated Library Search • ACCELERATED READER STUDENT • STAR TESTING • MICROSOFT WORD/MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

  9. EACH STUDENT HAS OWN ID CARD MUST PRESENT ID CARD TO CHECK OUT BOOKS EACH PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MATERIALS CHECKED OUT ON ID REPORT A LOST CARD IMMEDIATELY REPLACEMENT CARD WITH NEW ID NUMBER WILL COST $1.00 CHECK-OUT POLICIES

  10. CHECK-OUT POLICIES • STUDENTS MAY CHECK-OUT TWO (2) BOOKS • ADDITIONAL REFERENCE MATERIALS MAY BE CHECKED OUT FOR RESEARCH • NO CHECK-OUTS WITH OVERDUES

  11. BOOKS ARE CHECKED OUT FOR TWO WEEKS. • BOOKS MAY BE CHECKED OUT OR RETURNED AT ANY TIME. • DROP ALL RETURNED BOOKS IN BOOK DROP ! • DO NOT RESHELVE BOOKS.

  12. ACCELERATED READER • INDIVIDUAL READING LOG • BOOKS ARE COLOR CODED FOR READING LEVEL • TESTS MUST BE TAKEN UNDER TEACHER SUPERVISION AND YOU MUST HAVE THE BOOK WITH YOU. • ACHIEVEMENTS WILL BE POSTED ON HALL BULLETIN BOARD • REWARDS WILL BE GIVEN ACCORDING TO HANDBOOK.
