  16. AcademicCalender • Please check the academiccalender of the host university. It is important to informyourselfabout the start of your module abroad. • Ifthere is any overlap in the program between Stenden and your host university, youshould contact the co-ordinator of yourprogramme.

  17. LearningAgreement • Youneed a LearningAgreementifyou want to studyabroad. • A LearningAgreement has to beapprovedbyyour program coordinator in accordancewith the examcommittee • If a second signature is required: SMC (Margriet ter Horst) • Workwith scan copies by e-mail

  18. Content LearningAgreement • The learningagreementshouldconsist of: • 30 EC • No repetitionor overlap of subjects • 3rd and 4th yearsubjects –No introductorysubjects • Prerequisite: A detaileddescription of the subjects

  22. ExampleDescriptionsubjects • Module 1: OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT ENVIRONMENT • Objective • The student understands the contents of micro and macro business environment. The student adapts process thinking to different parts of a process. The student understands the connection between financial accounting and management accounting to business processes and how activity based management is used in a manufacturing company. • Contents • Micro and macro environment, processes including the purchasing of (raw) materials, production and selling the products to final customers. Financial accounting reports, management accounting, activity based costing (ABC) and activity based management (ABM). • Share of student’s workload • Lectures 32 hours, exercises 28 hours, individual and team work, reading and self-study 73 hours. • Credits • 5 • Teaching Methods • Lectures, teamwork, materials in virtual learning environment • Teaching Material • Will be announced in the beginning of the module (North Karelia Polytechnic)

  23. Administration: • After signature, each student willsubmit a copy of the Learningagreement to: • The host university • The co-ordinator of the home university. • The SMC for Erasmus grant (ifapplicable) • ownadministration

Changes to the originalLearningAgreement: • Discuss the changeswithyourcoordinator at home • Write the changeson the original document and include a description of the subject • Makesurethatyour host coordinatorsignsit • Sendit to your international coordinator in Leeuwarden forapproval as soon as possible.

  25. Transcript of Records: • In the end of the semester youwillreceive a transcript of records. • The transcript of records is yourproof of study in the host University • The subjectsonyour transcript of records shouldbe the same as the subjectsonyourlearningagreement

  26. Whatif: • You end your exchange withaninsufficientnumber of Credits? • Howcanyoucompensateforthat? 1. Resit of the subject/exam at the host university 2. Substituteassignment at Stenden for 3 EC or 6 EC 3. More than 6 missing ECs, Extra minor at Stenden

Erasmus Grant • For studentson exchange in the EU • Approx. 200 euro per month • In case more studentsthangrants: selection! • In that case studentsreturning to their country of origin have nopriority • Furtherselectionbasedon order in which SMC receives the signed student contracts. • Timeline: information to your e-mail address in September; selection / payment in November
