INTRODUCTION • Background of study • TQM is an approach to the art of management. • Originated in Japanese industry in 1950’s and become popular in the West since the early 1980’s. • Created by W. Edward Deming. • In the construction industries competition today, TQM is very important concept that guide an organization into the best performance. • This study is conducted to explore the TQM implementation in construction project process. • Problem statement • The application of TQM can varies of expertise from business to business. • Project Managers will become the backbone in TQM implementation • However, not all Project managers do the same strategy in TQM implementation.
Objectives Significances of study • TQM is a very useful method for Project manager to focusing on quality in project process. • Project manager also plays an important role in TQM implementation in term of customer satisfaction. • This study provides organizations and their project managers with the best way to implement and improve their TQM. To find out what are the roles of project manager in TQM best practice on construction project process. To explore the benefits of TQM implementation in construction project process. To investigate the best ways to improve TQM in construction project process.
METHODOLOGY • Description of participants • Seventy project managers in construction project. • Selected randomly. • To ensure that they can give their opinions in this study not only based on their experience, but also knowledge in their profession as a project manager. • Data collection methods • Survey questionnaire- send via email. • Clear instructions on how to answer it and asking for mailed. • Personally administered questionnaire- as a back up • Any doubt regarding to the question can be ask immediately. • Data analysis • Using SPSS software. • To get the accurate value for each question in survey questionnaire.
CONCLUSION • The project manager must involve in TQM implementation in construction project process to ensure that they achieve the great quality outcome in each project. • Project manager also must focusing on quality in each process in handling a project. So that, they can expect about the quality outcome. • Benchmarking strategy in TQM implementation. • Compliance with standard which currently available in the ISO 9000 quality system
